"Exciting our children about learning, encouraging youth to understand their world - and to change it for the better - this is what Antonia Demas does so well. Her innovative program, "Food is Elementary", uses creative examples to teach practical, empowering lessons - about food, about people, about life… I recommend Dr. Demas' work most highly."

Since 1995, the Food Studies Institute has trained thousands of teachers and initiated hundreds of food literacy programs in schools and other educational settings.
The Food Educator training is a two-day intensive certification course. Participants learn how implement the Food is Elementary curriculum and how to effectively engage children in PreK through 8th grade in hands-on activities around nutrition, cooking and gardening.
This training is appropriate for teachers, after school program educators, school nutrition professionals, school nurses, day care providers, and health care professionals.
