ADVENTURE CAMP

 A unique opportunity for kids ages 7 to 12 to explore fresh, healthy foods from around the world through hands-on cooking activities that engage all the senses

EXAMPLES OF RECIPES CAMPERS PREPARED

SUMMER 2017 & SUMMER 2018

Main Dishes - fresh pasta from scratch, homemade pizza dough,

hand rolled veggie sushi, corn tortillas from scratch, tacos, quesadillas, tostadas

Salads & Sides - vinaigrette dressings, antipasto platter, homemade herb butter, roasted potatoes, spring rolls

Breakfast Foods- homemade granola, muffins, yogurt parfaits, breakfast burritos, mini frittatas

Snacks - guacamole, salsa fresca, popcorn with spices
 

Beverages - smoothies, fresh lemonade, Agua de Jamaica (Hibiscus tea)

CAMPERS WILL                                     

  • Develop knife skills

ABOUT THE CAMP INSTRUCTOR
Ariel Demas has been teaching nutrition, cooking, and gardening to children in PreK through 8th grade for 15 years. She is a certified teacher and full time food educator at Hampstead Hill Academy, a Baltimore City Public School. Ariel also works closely with the Food Studies Institute in various capacities including training teachers to implement the Food is Elementary curriculum and running the Culinary Adventure Camps. Ariel grew up in Trumansburg, NY and earned a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Cornell University and a Master's degree in Education from Goddard College.
